Hey gang, I own a 2004 SRT-4 with about 36,800 miles on it. Tonight I was drivng it over to a friends house, and got about 4 blocks from home before it started acting funny. The check engine light came on and if I hit 2,000 rpm, it would just kind of die off. I got it home and parked it in the garage, and turned it off. It barely started again. I am thinking that my feul pump just went out but I am not sure. If anyone has any opinions, please let me know. By the way, my car is stock. Thanks again. T

 

well we could wait for psichick's or lilsparkplugs advice...but in the meantime...i dont think it would be your fuel pump...if your fuel pump goes out it wont start at all in most cases...idleing funny or driving funny?? hm...maybe a map or tip sensor? bad gas?
can you give us any more symptoms?

 

oh and your check engine light came on....you need to get to a autozone or an advanced auto parts, or napa, or pepboys, or whatever autoparts store you have in your area and have them run a diagnostic test on your car...dont worry its free of charge...that will def tell us whats wrong...they use a obdII scanner to scan our pcms for trouble codes..

write down whats wrong with it and the code #'s for the problems and come back on here and tell us whats up...

 

just turn your key on off three times with out starting it and on the third time keep it on and the code will show up in the odometer than just look at the top of the page in the trouble code section. Oh turn the key on and off fast I think it has to be done within 5 second

 

the autopart stores reading are never accurate..i had them run my car and it ended up being an overboost code and the jerkoff told me it was something to do with my evap..and they messed up when i brought my avalanche there too..just do the ignition key code finder like slickwillie told you it's so much easier

 

Take your key and turn it on and off three times to accessory without turning the car on. This will provide a CEL readout on your odometer. It will read something like P 0123 then ----- then dONE after all codes have been read. Once we gather the code we can further help you with the issue.
