Angry Little Boost/No blow off hisss

Hey, I just bought an '05 SRT-4 and i haven't seen more than 8psi of boost. Plus, I haven't heard the hisss sound from the BOV. I think the BOV is a Turbonetics one. Otherwise, to my knowledge, the car is stock. Any help would be great as to why I am not running the 15psi that I should have. I'm in the process of looking for boost leaks. Any help as to where to look first (or at all) would be appreciated. Anything else that it could be?? Thanks!

Check to see if the TIP sensor vacuum lines are connected. Coming off the factory solenoid on the airbox they are the white vacuum line that goes to the driver's side fender, and the red line that goes to the cold side pipe where your blow off valve should be. If those aren't connected you will only be running off the WGA and not the PCM. If the WGA has an 8lb spring, you will only get 8lbs of boost.

As for other common boost leaks:
- Both sides of the hot/cold side pipes
- Vac lines on the solenoid
- Vac lines on the WGA/Turbo
- PCV/emissions line
- Crankcase air intake (hose from the intake to the driver's side of the VC)
- Master cylinder/brake booster
- Charge pipe (pipe underneath/behind the turbo)
- TB Gasket and where the emissions line attaches to the intake mani

I'm sure theres more but thats off the top of my head.

yea i had that problem for alittle, the bushing that connects the intercooler to the intercooler pipe kept blowing off, its either a vacuum line or a open area in an intercooler pipe.

Well... it was 2 things...

(1)the vacuum line from the Turbonetics BOV was not connected on both ends b/c it was too short... so... I bought a longer one
(2)adjusted the nut on the BOV... so now i got the hiss.

As far as the boost not going above 8psi... my boost guage is the crappy factory one and reads (-11) when the car is off. I'm gonna replace the boost guage soon.

Thanks for the help!

If it doesnt read zero when the car is off, your gauge is jacked. The factory ones are notorious for going south. Replace with a new one. Chances are, you really arent boosting that low.
