Well there are 2 ways to do it:
1) front engine, rear drive or,
2) rear engine, rear drive.
I have never seen or heard of a front engine rear drive being done, yet. probably because it would be the hardest thing to do.
I have seen a video of a rear engine rear drive one. (maybe on youtube or streetfire) This looks to be the easiest way to do this because you can keep more of the original pieces. In the rear engine one, the guy kept the engine sideways so I'm guessing he was able to keep the stock tranny too. I dont remember if he was able to keep the back seat, but I doubt it.
Nothing is impossible if you have the time and money.
