This is true - Chevrolet has always put out a Camaro with more power around the same price range. The Z28 has always romped on the GT and LX 5.0 Mustangs in the early 90's. In the mid 90's, there was no contest between the two - Chevy was the dominator.

As a previous 92 5.0 "G"LX (3.27 gearing from the factory), I must say that the person chooses the car because of what they like, not because of what the car can do for them. I loved my Mustang but "like" my SRT4. I'd rather have a truck, but the SRT4 is a cheap way to make power and have fun. I'm nearing 30 and fun is what I'm about right now. To each their own - don't dog it until you try it.

Yes; lots of car owners hate on other car owners and generalize. One of the reasons is because the other car is faster.
Example: The car accident with the Toyota owner hitting the tree and totaling his car getting sent to the hospital (I think it was a Celica). The SRT owner didn't stop to help.
The people on the Houston forum were calling SRT owners cocky. One of the reasons they think you all are cocky is because u have reason to be cocky.

As far as the Mustangs, my dad has a 1999 Mustang special edition (with upgraded headers and exhaust) and it is intimidating. It's not a reg Mustang engine. He is not a cocky owner (he just tends to have fun once and a while). He's had cars try him and as soon as he drops the gas pedal they tend to back down. I wouldn't try him. I love his car.
And yes, there are cocky owners out there. Not everybody is though.

Everyone has opinions on cars. There are always going to be people out there who hate your car.

for me, it's not the driver. i just don't like some cars.(i've never really liked driveing ford made cars, no bad experiance, just didn't feel right ) mustangs are cool, the older ones, from the sixties. then they got ugly, i think. the new one is not bad looking, kinda cool.

I ran one in the 1\8 mile it was an auto. At that time my SRT was stock and i spanked him. I would like to find a stick at the track and see how much of a diff. there is in the 2.

 

I only wear a helmet when I'm doing 12's down the track you jack a$$!!. I may be a speck , but don't let me happen to catch up to you....squash!!!! I wouldn't run over a motorcyclist..just one who hates on car/truck owners!!! I happen to like the SRT-4 and all the stuff you can do to it for the price.
