new car new problems
hey guys as some of you may have heard i just bought a 04 srt-4 so far i'm having two problems with. first, the car is breaking up at WOT in fourth gear the car studers and falls on its face then picks up and just keeps repeating that really fast i'm thinking bad plugs or wires or maybe the plugs are gapped to the wrong measurment thats my thaughts. second, the abs light keeps turning on i don't know if i should bring this thing in for service at a dodge dealer or what bc to be honest i don't trust the guys who sold the car at this point at first i thaught the car just had a hickup bc the light turned off but its back on again. any thaughts or advice?
you should go and have it fully inspected by a dodge dealership and have them see if they can find any thing wrong that the dealer where you got it from "forgot" to tell you. you might be able to get them to pay for what ever is wrong if you tell them a dealership found problems that a real dealership wouldnt have let a car leave the lot with. i dunno just a thought it doesnt seem right to me to buy a car that is new to you from a dealership and then not have it run right. you can always bring it back to the place you bought it and be real nice and **** and just ask them what they think about the car running wierd and just see if they will look at it with you there so you know they are at least trying
I would take it back to where you bought it. If the ABS light keeps flashing its probably an ABS sensor that is bad. It could also be another malfunction in the ABS system, not something you want to find out when you need the system to work. As for the breaking up it could definitely be ignition related.
Regardless, take it back to them, the car should have had a PDI (Pre-delivery Inspection) done before you purchased it. The major issue is that some dealerships will not pay for what cars need when they are purchased. They hope that the customer doesn't notice any of it. A dealership by me recently sold a Durango, the truck had choppy tires and a bent rear control arm. The customer took it back the next day and said "my truck is vibrating and its not tracking straight". They were forced to replace it.
Don't wait too long.

don't take no for an answer. I go by if you get "no" then you asked the question the wrong way. When I bought my car I bought an extended warranty. When I took the car home I notived that the passenger side window would not roll down all the way. Brought it back they said iut was "fine" The window still worked properly so they were content with that. I was not feeling the same way so I continued to push, and I pushed for about a month coming in frequently. They eventually fixed it, and for an annoyance fee i got them to replace my drivers seat cuz it had a rip. Dont let them intimidate you and hold your ground.
I also had my abs light some on after i got my big brake kit installed. I took the sensors off and cleaned them and that solved the issue.
Good luck boss, let us know what happens.

doesnt the brake light come on when the fluid is just low??? i beleive there is a light that comes on not sure if its the ABS...
breaking up at WOT is either too much boost and hitting fuel cut or like your original thoughts of the plugs and gapping.
a wastegate being set wrong or even intercooler pipe can cause you to overboost and hit fuel cut...not sure if your car had any mods on it though...

the car is boosting 8 psi its not fuel cut i use to get fuel cut in my other srt its just breaking up it only does it at the bottom of gears at WOT i checked the brake fluid also and its full my mind is set on bad plugs but i'm going up there as soon as i can its tough bc the hours i work plus up in mass we're getting slammed with snow storms and the dealer i bought the car from is 72 miles away if i don't get a chance to go by next week i'm just going to go to the dodge dealer 3 miles away and get a tune up yea it sucks that i'll have to pay but it'll save me the headaches, time, and gas money and unwanted miles on the car so it kinda evens itself out however if i take it to dodge and they tell me i need this that and the other thing then i'll go back and complain their ears off
