CAR BUYING TIPS...
HEY I AM IN THE MARKET FOR THE NEW STONE WHITE SRT 4 AND I NEED SOME CAR BUYING TIPS. PLEASE HELP, I DONT WANT TO GET SCREWED. I REALLY DONT KNOW MUCH ABOUT CAR BUYING CUZ ITS GOING TO BE MY FIRST PURCHASE OFF THE DEALERSHIP. CAN ANYONE HELP ME WITH SOME TIPS SO THAT THEY F**K ME OVER. THANX
I have leased and purchased over 40 new vehicles and too many were at too high prices, but even though I am slow, I have learned. A few years ago, I would have recommended finding an auto broker. They could get me anything for $50 to $75 over invoice. Today, with the internet, even better can be done, especially this time of the year. Is the white available now in a 2005 Neon? If you are waiting for a 2006, it will cost you more because they typically have no or small rebates at the start of the year and they increase as the model year gets older. Anyhow ....... try invoicepricing.com There are many dealers now willing to sell at invoice. Just remember to get onto the car mfr's website to see what rebates are available. There are also some factory to dealer rebates and incentives that can be deducted from the price you should pay. Automotive News is at your library and will tell you about those. Your dealer may not want to. So, find out just exactly what you want, learn the invoice price, find out about rebates and factory to dealer incentives and promise yourself that you will NOT buy the first day/time you talk to the dealer. Go home and think about the deal for at least one night! Good luck and tell us what happens. .............. ************** HEY *********** !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just remembered. DCX is giving employee "discounts" to everyone!!! You just have to have someone's name and dept. number etc. and you can get the "discount." I call it a "discount" instead of a discount because if everyone can get it, wouldn't it just be better called the price and not employee discount? OOOOOOOOOOPs.............just remembered something else (I TOLD you I was slow.......). There are no employee "discounts" on the SRT series.
other than that there are no employee discounts, there are no rebates on any kind of the srt line of cars either. so you can't count on those.
the best advice that i can give is to just do it the easy way. call up your local dealership and ask to speak to the internet or fleet sales manager. they do not work on commission like regular salesman do, so they are usually willing to sell you a car at msrp. expect to pay msrp, and never pay any higher. i seriously doubt that you will get below that since there is barely any mark up on these cars to begin with, so it's not so easy to get them to drop below that. but you may be able to get like $500 off or something like that. it is very unlikely that you would find one at invoice, but try that site that danko suggested and see what happens. you might find a dealer willing, you never know! but because it is white, i don't think it will be possible because no one has any yet.
since you are interested in white, you need to expect a few things. one - this color is not on the lots yet, so it is a special order. two - to special order a car, a 3k deposit is usually required. three - it will take 6-8 weeks for you to get it when you order it.
good luck and let us know how it goes!

i got my 05 for 22,300 and 0 down on it and thats inluded all the tax and processing fee.the msrp is almost 22,900.if youre going to talk to the agent tell them that the maximum you can pay is 22,000 and im sure they will tell you that they will tell you that they can only afford to give it to you for like 23,000 after they said that tell them how about 22,200 and probably they will tell you they could only give it to you for 22,500 and tell them 22,300 you will take it that is your final price included all the tax and processing in it.im telling you they will give it to you.
the msrp i just got for an 05 orange blast with sun roof and some pearl coat was $21.960 and for the 04 same car was $21,660, wouldnt hteir be a bigger price change from year to year not only $300?
