i dont know about it fouling a plug and missfiring what mods did it have? msd distributor they are known to go out. the clutch is almost toast thats what it means when its a pain to get it into gear. this could be normal if there are enough miles on the clutch. how many miles are on the car? the whistle is normal IF its the turbo. im pretty sure that is what you are hearing cause it only happens at wide open throttle. if it has a short ram or cold air intake then that is why it would be louder than normal. other than that ive found that its more about who you are buying the car from thats most important not always just looking at the car but of course you should look it over top to bottom underneath most of all look for dents and dings. that sort of thing and if it is a nice srt with no major problems you will be plenty happy for sure good luck and good to see new members

The Car has just over 90,000km on it and the only mod i could see was a cold air intake, im really on the fence about buying it cause ive been burnt before. Also ive never met the previous owner because it was a dealer who sourced it for me. its not in premo condition but only some minor dings and scratches which is nothing cause im a body tech. also what is it worth he wants 12,900 for it. im just a little freaked out that it has all these problems the day i was going to pick it up. But wow when it hit those gears it was like no four cylinder ive ever drove. any advice would be great thanx

12900 seems a little high. blue book is like between 10000 and 11000. i dont know how many miles 90000km is but it seems to be too many miles for that price. i bought my srt used with 55000 miles on it and it has some dents a dings on the outside but mechanicly it is very sound. these cars are pretty reliable and it should be pretty evident when looking under the car if it has been beat to $#!+. as far as the problems what all happended when you said it fouled a plug and missfired? were you driving it? just idling? how did they know it was #3 cylinder? tell me more and i will help you more.

Ok that works out to be around 56,000 miles on it. first time i stepped on it the engine light came on and was flashing codes, he hooked up the code reader and it read misfire on cylinder three, but also he had pressure washed the engine bay the night before. Then when cleared it ran fine till it blew off a intake line for the turbo. but my main concern is the fact that it is so hard to get the damn thing into the gears. i have read so many forums saying everthing from clutch pedal bushings to forks to tranny fluid, are you sure it would be a clutch issue? all that being said i think he is going to have to give me a hell of a deal if i was to purchase it. i understand its a tuner car and its going to have some issues but im just a little hesitant about all the **** i have read about these cars.

ok i think now that this car seems to have more problems then i thought you might want to be very careful on this one. the forks is a common problem i have heard about. its never happened to me and i dont know whats involved in fixing them. i wouldnt jump right on this car. i would say you have to find another srt4 to test drive you need to have some kind of comparison. this is the best thing i could suggest for you other than saying this srt you are looking at could be more of a lemon than i thought. just be careful and dont be in a hurry.
