Default Big problems with aamco

So i just want everyone to know DO NOT GO TO AAMCO!!!!!

almost 2 months ago i was taking a friend for a hell ride and i snapped a peice in my tranny.
turned out to be the "linkage housing cover" and also prior to this i had a problem with third gear grinding. I let aamco know all the problems i was having and they said "no problem"

After 2-3 days they pulled the tranny and i took a ride to see what they found they told me about the broken plate, and also told me that my third gear did not need a rebuild that it was not going into gear becasue the plate i broke had worn and did not allow the forks to line up and go into gear smooth quotes me $1400 for everything

so they tell me they are going to replace the plate, replace the worn fork and blocking rings and i should be all set....2-3 weeks go by (problems finding parts) and i bought my own act clutch for them to put in....eventually he tells me ALL the parts come in and ready to be put in...2 days go by and there is a problem....
1) the plate i broke they "couldnt find" so the welded it and it failed on there first test drive
so now they have to order the part "that will be another $600. They ordered and put back together
2) they have the plate replaced now but the shift fork is banging on the pressure plate and they dont know why so they "took a little off" so it would clear meanwhile act says the only reason it should hit is if they didnt replace the forks. they did what they did and put it together AGAIN then come to find out they DID NOT replace the forks
3) all back together now my third gear is still grinding...gotta take it apart again and they inform me my 3rd gear needs a rebuild....(didnt tell me this time they just did it)
4) put it together AGAIN..after the rebuild mind you....and they call me to tell me 3rd gear still grinds!!!!!

if you can count youll see that is 4 tear downs!!!!!!!!

so what they tried to do it quote me 1400 to replace forks, linkage cover, and blocking ring then put together.....when really they tried to quick fix not replace forks, weld cover and only do blocking ring and still charge me original quote...then tried chargin me more when the "quick fix" didnt work ..

all in all its been 2 months and 4 rebuilds.....dont trust any of these shops...corprate wouldnt even help

yep, sounds about right, thats why i just go to smaller local only shops, they tend to have better service, thoguht a few still try to rip people off.

Should have went with a PWerks tranny, could have gotten a stage 1 for 2000 I think, or upgraded Stage 2 or 3. I got a stage 3 with billet fork, fully built for like 3500. Drives like a dream.
