Well it happened. Just like i thought it would. A few days ago i posted a thread about how i was driving an srt for free b/c i was waiting for them to approve my loan. I got home from work last night and there was a message on the phone saying i needed to turn the car in now, and if i didn't they were going to send the repo truck! I called them back and talked to my finance guy. he said and i quote " we have been trying to get ahold of you for awhile now and am planning to send the truck tom!!!" and i answered back very sturnly that he had better not try to talk to me like some stupid kid b/c i have phone records that would prove that he had not called me once in 11 days and that i had called his office, his bosses office and a couple of salesmans offices b/c no one would give me a straigh answer. after i said that he camled down and said well either way can you bring the car in soon. i said yes b/c i understand that if the bank said no then i'm driving this car for free and i'd be a gentleman and bring it in tonight even though it was a 2 hour drive. so i got the wife and the kid and took off at 6 oclock. but first went to my work and smoked the tires for the first and last time just to have something to look at later!! well my night gets better. i was cruising at about 100 for a while then slowed down to about 85. sure enough the second my radar went off i hit the brakes and drove right past the state police. he got me at 88 in a 65. if anyone lives in az listen to this. you can get arrested if you are going 21mph over the speed limit. so he pulled me out of the car and had some words with me. after a few " i understand sir" from me, he noticed my usmc tatoo on my arm and we started to talk about the Marines. Just for info he was in for 10 and i'm in for 5 now and 3 more to go, but he was nice and we actualy talked for about 20 min and he just gave me a ticket for 80 in a 65. so i pulled into the dealership at about 920 and they closed at 900 but i called to tell them that i'm on the way. i got there and some guy i had never seen or talked to gave me my old keys and wrote down the mileage for the srt 4( 2234!!!) and said sorry and have a nice day.
so we looked one last time at the orange blast pearl color that we had loved so much for 11 days. but as we were driving away my wife said in just the sweatest voice," It's ok babe b/c that just means we can get a better car in a year or two, God just planned it that way i know it." i said ya i think so too.
soo i have had a great time reading all you posted and will me sending back my mopar bov and throwing away my $20 occ today. Hope to talk to you all later but if i don't, have fun and never forget that there are people that give there lives fighting, so we can run the streets free and race where ever we want!!!

hey man sorry to hear that, thats really got to suck. well maybe one day you can get it back. well on the good side you only have 3 more years in the service. i still have 6 to go.

 

Did the bank just never finance you? I can't believe they let you take the car. Thats like giving a little kid candy that he can't have. What a horrible place of business that dealership is. I'm very sorry to hear that, maybe when the new "SRT-4" comes out you can be driving one of them, and next time you buy a Dodge steer clear of that dealer, because damn they suck.

The loan was sent up and all the people at the dealership said that they know it is ok and there is no problems with the amount. but come to find out the banks think that i would be upside down on the amount to much. i owe 16000 on my car now and they only wanted to give me 12000 and the sticker on the new srt 4 was 19700. i don't know why they would say no but i just feel kinda bad for the next guy b/c he is not buying a new car with 2234 on it. i wonder what they are going to say when someone asks why are the miles there. oh well

Yeah they'll probably say it was a demo. That happened to me when I tried to trade my Miata in for my SRT-4. The bank said that there was too much negative equity, and that I was financing the car for way more than it was worth. You should've had the dealership try to finance through a different bank. Sometimes Daimler Chrysler's bank won't finance for that much negative equity but another bank will. Or sell your other car outright, and buy the SRT-4. Thats what I ended up doing. Selling my Miata outright, and buying the SRT-4 as is. Worked out great....now I've just got the little SRT-4. But I wasn't willing to give up a chance to get the SRT just because of some negative equity.

 

I am a dealer, and it will have to be sold as a used car... If the dealer is honest. I am sorry to har about your experience, and the loss of your srt.

Yes a demo is considered a "used car" in all technicality but is sold "as new" with extra rebates. If they stick it as a used car they lose a ****load of money and are hard pressed with what people are going to ask them about the mileage. They screwed themselves.

 

We sell ours as used, and yes lose a s**tload of money. It is by law what you have to do, being as it was registered to an owner. That is why we will not roll a deal until we know it is approved or are sure it will be. Also why we do not hire green peas!
