NEWBIE LOOKING FOR SOME ASSISTANCE
HEY GUYS, UNFORTUNATELY I AM THE NEWEST GUY HERE AT THE MOMENT. I JUST WANTED TO INTRODUCE MYSELF A LITTLE AND LET EVERYONE KNOW WHY IM HERE. MY NAME IS QUICK, AND IM FROM NEW ORLEANS LA. HERE IN NEW ORLEANS I OPERATE UNDER THE NAME QUICKSPEED RACING. I SPECIALIZE IN F-BODY CARS, LT-1 AND LS-1 MOTORS, AND EVERY NOW AND THEN SOMEONE WILL DISGRACE MY GARAGE WITH A MUSTANG. CURRENT PROJECTS INCLUDE AN 04 CHEVY SILVERADO SS 6.0 PICKUP. WEIGHING IN AT JUST OVER 5,200 POUNDS AND SPORTING ALL WHEEL DRIVE, ITS DEFINITELY INTERESTING. ITS ABOUT TO HAVE THE STS TURBO INSTALLED, AND IS ALREADY SPORTING A K&N KIT, TRANS-GO SHIFT KIT, THE DIABLO PREDATOR TUNE (WHICH IS COMING OUT IN FOUR DAYS TO MAKE WAY FOR THE PCM FOR LESS COMPUTER) I ALSO HAVE A MUSTANG COBRA THAT IM BUILDING FOR SOMEONE THAT HAS A ONE OFF PROCHARGER F-1 GOING INTO IT, AND WILL BE PUSHING OUT ABOUT 32 POUNDS OF BOOST. ITS NEVER BEEN DONE BEFORE. WE ELIMINATED THE AIR-WATER INTERCOOLER AND WENT WITH AIR-AIR WITH METH INJECTION. THE MOTOR IS A 347 STROKER, BUILT BY ME WITH A LONG LIST OF GOODIES IN IT. OBVIOUSLY BOTH OF THESE PROJECTS HAVE A LIST OF PARTS THAT WOULD TAKE ME DAYS TO TYPE. IF ANYONE IS CURIOUS ABOUT THEM OR HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, FEEL FREE TO HIT ME UP. WITH THAT IN MIND....THE REASON IM HERE. I JUST RECENTLY TOOK ON AN 05 SRT-4 FOR MY BEST FRIEND, AND TO BE HONEST, ITS NOT MY AREA OF EXPERTISE. I KNOW WHAT HES LOOKING TO DO WITH IT, AND WHAT HE WANTS TO ACCOMPLISH, AND I HAVE AN IDEA OF WHERE TO GO FROM HERE, BUT YOU GUYS HAVE PROBABLY TRIED JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING, SO I THOUGHT I WOULD MAYBE GET AN OPINION FROM YA'LL AND TAKE IT FROM THERE. ANY INFORMATION THAT CAN BE HANDED MY WAY WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. WE ARE AIMING FOR 300-350HP AT THE MOMENT. I HAVE BEEN TO UMPTEEN SITES LOOKING AND COMPARING, BUT TO BE HONEST IM NOT TOO SURE WHATS GOING TO PRODUCE THE MOST GAINS. WE ARE GOING FOR THE TOTAL PACKAGE, SO IF YOU HAVE INFO ON BODY GRAPHICS, STAGE 2 OR 3 TURBO'S, WASTEGATES, BASICALLY ANYTHING....THROW IT MY WAY. (NO, I DONT WANT TO HEAR ABOUT THE HIGH PERFORMANCE BLINKER FLUID) I CAN BE REACHED AT YOU_CAN_CALL_ME_QUICK@YAHOO.COM WITH ALL THAT SAID AND DONE, IM GLAD TO BE A PART OF YET ANOTHER FORUM. I HOPE TO HEAR FROM YOU GUYS SOON, AND BY ALL MEANS IF ANYONE HAS ANY QUESTIONS FOR ME, SEND EM MY DIRECTION, IM ALWAYS WILLING TO HELP OUT. SEE YA ROUND! QUICK
Stage 3 would be the quickest way to 300hp 350lb-ft of torque. And the as PSIChick has said before, the easiest way not to tune, to avoid electrical problems, melted wires, part throttle boost issues, etc.
ATP and AGP make turbo upgrade kits, one is a 50 trim ones a 60....my mind is running rampant right now. If you get the Stage 3 kit, everything is with it, and theres an option of "toys" which is an octane booster button for running higher octane. There are SRTs at around 500hp right now, even one with an automatic conversion.
Its all up to you where you plan to go. But....Beef up the suspension. Sway Bars, Springs/Coilovers, get a Short throw Shifter, front and rear strut bars, and solid mounts etc. These cars dont handle as well as they should, and with all that power youll need it and/or want it.
Check out these companies for more info on turbo systems etc:
Turboneonstore.com
ATP
AGP
Perrin
PSI-Fi
ModernPerformance.com
etc.
And join up at SRTForums.com for an immense amount of knowledge on these cars. Just read alot before posting, or they wont bother to answer your questions, theyll just tell you to search. Just an FYI beforhand.
Good luck, and if you have anymore specific questions about a part that you cant find somewhere, I'm sure one of us here would be more than happy to help.

Yeah, the Mopar Stage 3 puts you right in that exact place your wanting it to be in power wise. Here it is straight from Mopar:
"For maximum power and torque, the Stage 3 Turbo Kit will be the ultimate upgrade for your SRT-4. The Stage 3 Turbo Upgrade Kit (with and without Turbo Toys) boosts power to an awesome 310 hp at 5600 rpm and 325 ft.-lbs. of torque at 3200–4800 rpm. The Stage 3 Kit with Turbo Toys in high-octane mode increases power to an amazing 355 hp at 5200 rpm and 365 ft.-lbs. of torque at 3200–4800 rpm! The Mopar Performance Cat-Back Exhaust System (P4510461) is required to obtain these power figures."

arent i just the shmuck of the day? my bad on the caps. i know better, due to the fact that i belong to so many forums....just had a small brain fart that day! just way to much to say at one time. i already know about the stage three. most of the obvious things are exactly that....obvious. what i was asking i guess, is about the not so obvious things that have been tried and re-tried. who does the best pcm tunes, whats the best wastegate, best b.o.v. yada yada yada. im not too sure hes looking to get into the stage three just yet due to money issues, so its going to be a slow build. i know he's looking to sink some money into it this week, so i have to decide whats going to get me the most hp the easiest. thanks again for all the help, and once again im so sorry for the caps thing. what can i say, got a little excited about joining another forum! talk to you guys soon!
Alot of people go with the AGP WGA. I can't speak for it myself as I've never had it. I have driven a couple cars with it, and its a noticeable difference, nothing major though.
Blow off valves. I'd say its between the HKS SSQ, and the Greddy Type-S.
PCM tuning? I'm not too sure about that either. You may want to try and find an S3 PCM, or an S2 PCM, and run bigger injectors, maybe 750cc.
And again, NGK Iridiums, and MSD 8.5mm wires are a must, stock plugs well, for lack of better terminology, just suck.
As for companys testing and retesting for perfection. According to a few sources, PSI-Chick being one of them, PSI-Fi seems to do ALOT ALOT ALOT of testing on their products to ensure, driveabilty, function, quality, and perfection. Not that other companies don't, but PSI-Fi makes this stuff public, so the rest of the SRT world can see their progress and just how much they've really come by.
Short Throw Shifter. Mopar reduces by 27-28%. Get the Maddog STS, everyone that has it is ecstatic about it. Grab some Booger bushings with it also. The Maddog reduces throw by 50%, and is only $136 shipped.
Springs or Coilovers? Answer this one and we can go from there
Swaybars? Well, the Mopar ones are the same thing as having a PT Convertible front Sway, and a Neon ACR 2nd gen Rear Sway. The only difference is they aren't adjustable. I've installed a set of Progress Sways, and HATED the way they fit on this kids car. Everyone raves about Hotckis, and how awesome their swaybars are, so I'd give them a try.
Motor Mounts, you've got dogbones, you've got solid, you've got Boomba. Its all up to how much stiffness and vibration you can handle. Along with the annoying powersteering noise that comes along with a solid mount (most of the time). The new one from JLM or JMB I forget which is a bit pricey, but everyone who's bought it seems to be extremely happy with it, and have little to no wheel hop, very little vibration, and no powersteering noise. And it isnt neccessary to utilize a lower mount.
Intercoolers, People around here in New England LOVE the CTI intercooler, they say it performs the best out of any. If your looking to keep the crashbar in the car, Spearco and CCA make direct fits so that the rigidty of the frame stays intact, but your still flowing cooler and better than stock.
Exhausts, again people around here in New England are all about the CTI 3" with removed cat. It is EXTREMELY loud, compared to stock. So loud if you have a stock radio, good luck hearing it at top volume. I'm probably going to be getting the Mopar Borla one, I haven't driven a car with it yet, but its slightly louder than stock, and less restrictive (2.5 as opposed to 2.25). Depends on where your powerband is going to be just how wide you want the turboback to go.
SAFC - totally a good mod. Whether you go with this or a Greddy E-manage it WILL improve the performance of the car, and you'll be better able to control the fuel/air aspects of your engine.
Wideband - not familiar with it.
Turbos - Mopar, AGP, ATP, etc etc etc. Again all in what you want. 50-trim? 60-trim? 16G? Totally up to the power you want the car to have. I could babble about those for hours, but you can find an area of power youd like to be at, and we can help you choose the turbo that would be best for you.
Oil catch can - whether its the 20$ catch can or a Greddy or Perrin catch can, DEFINITELY get one. It is a great mod, and keeps a bunch of excess oil out of your system.
Intake - Want a Short Ram or a CAI? I have the AEM short ram, but I'm not looking for a huge power range. A CAI would probably benefit you more. Battery relocation is an easy way to be 100% positive that your intake wont ground out on the positive terminal. I have a rubber grommet on mine to prevent that, but it has happened to a few people (more so with AEM than any other company).
And I'm too tired to think anymore LOL. Anyone feel free to add or correct anything to this. And QuickSpeed, if you've got anymore questions or direct questions about any of this or anything else, feel free to ask any of us. We'd be glad to help. And I'll glady decipher [8D]
