Good night of racing
71, have you tried playing with the timing in the RR? my 340 is a 69 motor, but i have cheap pistons, so they are only like 8:1...we had the heads shaved a bunch to get the compression up around 9:1...i am running 46-50 degrees advance timing with the 528 MP cam...and last year i run 12.60s/70s with 87 octance, and if i can find it, 85 octane...i also get awful mileage...but on 110...ouch...i understand why you dont cruise it more..
then again, with the SRT4...i dont blame you about "having" to cruise in the neon...
black4, where are you paying almost 7 a gallon for 104? is that cam2?

Yep, both the timing and the carburation. I have the Mopar Performance electronic conversion ignition with an MSD Blaster ignition coil and Accel 300+ race wires and a Holley 750 double pumper. It also had the same problem with the Carter AVS 870 cfm I had on it that was off of the 400 I had in it. The 400 was a stock '73 high performance engine with a '68 HP 440's 870 cfm Carter AVS on it, so it ran fine on any grade gas.
I have a 440 that's apart that I want to build, but the body and paint come first since it has a strong fresh engine in it. Now all I need is a butt load of money to get everything done.[&o]
