tire size?

crappy picture, but you get the idea. i'll get some better pics sometime soon.
the traklites are generally going for $280-320 a rim, depending on where you look. i got a nice deal on mine, so i didn't pay quite that much, but they still weren't cheap. they were released about two months ago for our cars in 17" and 18" sizes. i am currently waiting for the 15x7's to be released in about a month and will get 2 of those to run my dr's on.

I have been trying to find a picture of them on the srt for like 8 months. Now that I see them on the car, I think the 5 spoke design looks much better than the comp's 6 spoke. I didn't think they would look so agressive. I think I see my new wheels.

I hear the 15x7's are like 9 lbs. - woah.
ok well im most likely gonna order my wheels and tires next week, and just wanna doupl check out something... the guy was telling me i should run 215s, but i def wanna run something wider, was thinkin 235 first, but might be alil to wide and rub, so im thinkin 225... anyone running 225? and if so, do you have any problems running 225 on a 17x8 rim?
now for which tires i should get...thinkin about falken either "Falken Azenis Sport" 225/45ZR-17 90 B or "Falken Azenis RT-615" 225/45R-17 94W XL B ...??
or "Yokohama AVS ES100" 225/45ZR-17 94W REIN , "Yokohama AVS Sport" 225/45ZR-17 90W
and last but not leats heard good things bout toyo but which tires would be best??? remember lookin for good traction, and makin sure that a 225 would be find on a 17x8 rim... thanks

Dude, stay away from the Yoko A100es tire. They don't grip well, they are noisy, and they wear FAST! I swapped the OE tires out for them when the car was new. I never liked them. The toyos are nice, I have them on my Stratus
Coupe (proxes 4's). They work really good in wet weather. (Useless in snow) Great tire for the $$$.
I just put 225/40-18 BFG g-force Sports on my SRT....it's a new tire. WOW, They are incredible, they all took less than an ounce of weight, and my car rides much smoother. They are less $$$ than the Toyo's too. I have 18x7.5 Excel Daytona wheels.....+35 offset. I have about a half an inch clearance from the caliper, with no spacers. I have bought many different brands of tires, I really like this series of BFG's.
Go with 225/45-17's.
By the way, great info on the wheels there posthonda, thanks. The offset issue, I went from the +45 to +35 offset. I get a shimmy at 75-80 that almost goes away when you accelerate (it shimmys while crusing, nail it and it stops) on the highway. I am not sure if it is because of the increase in unsprung
weight, the offset, or if I need hub rings. Any input would be helpful. By the way, once you hit a hundred, it is smooth as can be.
I almost forgot. I measured the toe on my front end. It was set to 1/16in total (toe in). I increased it to 1/4 total toe in. The car tracks much better and steering response from center is much improved. The jury is out on wear, I'll let you know.

roostboost has the fuzions, talk to him about them. he seems to be liking them, and they're pretty cheap. i've got the proxes 4 and i'm happy with them. i don't drive my car in the snow so it doesn't matter to me about that. i got them cheap, i think it was $400 shipped for the set of 4.

On your shimmy:
Generally you should always use hubcentric's with aftermarket wheels, otherwise you are lug centric, and this can cause the shimmy you speak of. But that is generally. Also, there is a lock washer type thing holding on one or two of your rotors on one of the wheel lugs, if you didn't remove it - you need to - it will cause the shimmy you speak of and is completely unnecessary - (it was an assembly line piece, I would assume). There is no recess in aftermarket wheels to accomodate it and it makes your wheel a tiny bit crooked.
Yes, I pulled the "factory clips" off of the rotors before I put the wheels on. I agree about the rings, it also helps distribute the loads better too, not putting it all on the studs. I will try the rings. The only thing that puzzles me is that the shimmy stops under acell and is worse on decell.
You might think a carefully machined rim would center with the lugs. I might try a different tightening method first, then measure the radial runout with the wheel on the car. Thanks for the info.
