proper gas
Not trying to play moderator here, but lets not bash some poor newbie kid who is just looking for answers. Were all here to share info, Right???
Some of us know alot more than others. My brother is an incredible electrical engineer, but he cant figure out how to open a garage door lock if he had to. It doesn't mean I can bash him because he doesn't know where to add oil to his car, does it???
On the other hand, pure stupidity should just be ingnored. In my opinion, this is the best forum I have read yet. Let's keep it this way.......unless some guy is claiming 9 second quarter mile times, starting off in second gear...LOL. That we can have fun with!

Ok guys, I have a fuel related question.
When you have the stage 2 kits w/ turbo toys, if you put octane booster in the car would it be better to run it normal or on the high octane mode. I guess my question is, does the octane booster have enough effect the benefit running the high octane mode?
Thanks
Andrew

Ok, most of the octane booster you buy at parts stores is really not worth it. When you read the bottle, see if they state how many points it will raise the fuel. Keep this in mind, if it states ten points, that means ONE octane number. Most say 3 or 4 points, which is less than half an octane number. PSI Chick my be able to recomend a brand of booster that is effective. The best I have seen in parts stores is made by Prestone, which claims ten points. The outlaw and 104+ brands usually claim 3 or 4 points.
Aight. - Maybe I was a little harsh - there have been a few elementary ?'s to which the answers could be easily found by searching, or simply looking at the owners manual. What I meant to say was:
Hi, Manous04, How are you? You don't need 93, the owners manual recomends 91. People have had better results running 93, as far as performance goes. If it is available to you, it is worth the extra couple of cents per gallon.
Just another recomendation; if you use the search feature you can find answers to a lot of questions, as there have been two years+ of threads on all manner of subject. Generally, that is your best option, because you will get a number more answers to your questions. Personally, I like to do this, because this is a forum and some people know what they're talking about and some don't. I like to read more responses and make an educated decision based on which of the many comments I have read seem plausable.
BTW - I was curious - do you own an SRT-4 or are you an enthusiast. - Honestly, either is fine, I was just curious.
I am feeling much nicer today

If im correct, those points relate to decimals not whole points. i.e. 93 oct + 104 oct booster (claiming 3 pts)= 93.3. Not 96 Octane. Let me know if im wrong.

Yes, that is what I was trying to say. (sometimes I say too much and confuse people, sorry). Most of the crap at the stores contain MBTE, which is what the gasoline companys use in the gas anyway. By the way, did anyone ever hear of the old mothball in the gas tank trick?
