Short Ram vrs CAI
my understanding is that a short ram is pointless, as you're still pulling in hot air. Only reason not to have a CAI is if it's like hardcore rainy/wet out and there are deep puddles. The CAI will be the best performance gain for sure.
go dyno your car withthe CAI and the short ram both are the same i have not seen any dynos that showed a CAi or short ram make over 2hp! my ghetto ram makes just as much HP as my friends AEM CAI remeber.. you have a intercooler! does a intake help? sure a lil bit but not that much!
Here's how it breaks down, a stock air box with a Mopar/K & N filter is better than stock, a short ram intake is better than both of those and a CAI is the best of all. To see the difference between them go to http://www.modernperformance.com and check each one out, they have the dyno results for each one they carry and it is proven that CAI's are better than short ram. I checked them all out and found the K & N Typhoon CAI to be the best, it yielded the largest gains and it has the ability to be switched to a short ram if you are worried about high water during the rainy part of the year.
