Do what the service manager and the owners manual says, don't change it until 3,000 miles. By the way, the SRT-4's come from the factory with Mobil 1 synthetic in them already, just like the Vipers.[sm=smiley2.gif]

My dealer advised me to change mine at the 3,000 mile mark OR the 3 month point, whichever comes first. He also gave me a coupon book that says the same thing. The only bad thing is that for the first year, ALL oil changes must be done by the dealer...[:'(]
(I'm buying my own oil, either Mobile 1 or Amsoil - I haven't decided which, and taking it in to the dealer. I can get Mobile 1 at the Fort Sam Houston Post Exchange for a little over $4 a quart...I can get Amsoil for $4.85)
Have to throw my two cents in here. When i went for my first oil change at 3000 miles i told the dealer i wanted to start running mobile 1 syn 10w30 oil in it. He laughed and said they come from the factory with that from day one when they fire the engine up on the assembly line. But don't worry i want tell anyone this, they didn't even tell us! SO that brings me to my next question, how many people went to jiffy lube or what ever and had regular penzoil 10w30 added? And all i've read about not going back from a syn oil after you use it, its syn oil from then on and about future problems.
You don't need to buy your own Mobil 1 synthetic for it, as it has already been mentioned, they come from the factory with Mobil 1 synthetic in them. When the dealership does the oil changes they use Mobil 1 synthetic, they have to, it's the recommended oil. Save your oil money and buy a BOV or CAI if you haven't already.[sm=smiley20.gif][sm=smiley2.gif]
Be careful when buying a CAI, some are worth the money, some are not. The temps in a SRT-4 engine compartment are very high. A "CAI" that draws air from the engine compartment will not do anything to improve your performance. You'll want a CAI that draws air from somwhere else, some models do it around the wheel well. More expensive as a rule, but more performance. Make sure the air filter is oil coated to deflect the "puddle splash-up".[&:]
