I like Mobile one. That's only my opinion but have never tried Redline, Royal Purple, Amsoil or others.
This is for your opinion but I am more interested in the "why so" answer.
Can be for engine and/or transmission.
My cars have never seemed to care much what I used but my motorcycle was extremely picky so I know it matters.
I like synthetics mostly for perceived durability issues, not so much for seat of the pants observations.
Anyones answer with hard data due directly to there oil selection would be most welcome.
Bad experiences also welcome.

While I would love to use Royal Purple due to the fact that it has made other cars I have driven run better than anything else; I am sticking to what the manual reccomends - mobil 1 - even though I voted for Royal Purple.

It is the same story for Super Blue brake fluid. While I swear by the product and use it at the racetrack on our club racecars, I am afraid to lose warranty on the brakes due to the Blue Fluid, so I use Dot 4 or Motul 600(Great stuff).

Different colored oil in the engine makes me think that if I ever have a warranty issue, they will void it. The fact that R.P. has 4 times the surface tension that other synthetics have is the biggest difference I can see.

 

Posthondaremoval, Royal purple will not void your warranty. I copyed this off the Royal Purple website.

Royal Purple's motor oils are API certified and will not void new car warranties. Royal PurpleĀ® recommends waiting until the manufacturer's first scheduled oil change or a minimum of 2,000 miles in new gasoline engines before using Royal Purple.

 

Hey, I haven't taken the plates off the car yet, so I can still post! I have only used Mobil 1 all my life, and I have never blown a motor or a turbo....ever.

And I have had four turbo cars, all were driven hard.

 

I use Mobil 1 in my car, Mobil filter and Mobil 93 gas. Everything Mobil. My cars happy with it, so thats how its gonna be

 

Mobil 1 all the way here as well.

Love Royal Purple for My Mx Racer but have alays ran mobil 1 in cars. I may try RP in the Srt ( they say it runs smoother and adds Hp

 

But DCX Can try - and they often seem to do just that.[:@]
