Default Oil Leak and Loose Blow Off (?)

I took my SRT to the shop today because the driver's side intercooler pipe was covered with some kind of liquid. I thought it was tranny fluid (have a minute, slow leak), but the shop said that it was oil...I don't know where it would be coming from or why it is only on the one pipe, but it is...Would aftermarket hot and cold pipes fix this?

Also, the guy said that my blow off (Mopar block off plate) is really loose and that it is releasing pressure too soon. He said trying to tighten it down would get more out of the turbo too.

Any suggestions on the oil issue? Also, does this guy seem to know what he's talking about? Thanks for any help!

hmm the oil in the cold side pipe is normal. i drain mine every oil change but most people get an oil catch can. you should be able to see if the blue plate is loose just by looking at it. nothing needs to be removed just to inspect and feel if its loose. if it is thats not good at all and i would think the car wouldnt be running well if at all without the check engine light on. just go and feel if the blue plate is loose its on the turbo toward the front of the car kinda on the bottom. i think this guy was trying to make himself sound smart to you so he could confuse you with technical jargin its obvious he has never worked on an srt-4 before or at least is very limited to them if he didnt know the pcv valve with blow oil by and collect in the cold pipe. try finding a different shop if you can if not save yourself the money and drain the cold pipe yourself and tighten down the blow of plate all you need to take of is the intake tube.

Thanks for the advice; I really appreciate it! I am happy to hear that the oil issue is common. I was also curious if there are noticeable gains between stock hot/cold pipes and aftermarket hardpipe kits. Thanks again!
