A/C quit... '05 SRT-4
The compressor apparently won't engage. The compressor clutch's 10A fuse (#22) is good - swapping the starter relay with the identical clutch control relay yielded nothing - and the starter still worked. The problem presented Sunday AM - it's my wife's car - she made it to church fine - with A/C - nothing after church except the fan. She took my '05 Liberty today... it has good A/C, of course. 95-98 today - Code Orange ozone - I elected to not drive 32 mi each way to the shooting range - as planned. Last week I replaced the plug wires and a short piece of vacuum line to the TIP I squashed when I cleaned the K&N air filter (It had set P1188 - ran horribly.) earlier in the week. Anything in that area I could have 'bumped' to cause the fault? Ideas?
Help... Please!! I want my Liberty back! My wife misses her rocket - complains about my Jeep, "It has no brakes... good thing there are no Amish here - they'd pass me!" And... "Where's the subwoofer? What a wimpy exhaust... is the motor running?". Yeah, well, at least it has A/C that works... even if it smells like cat pee (You don't think she'd take a sick cat to the vet in her SRT-4, do you?).
