Question First of many stupid questons--- clutch

I know most clutches in cars are different from one car to another. Where should the clutch catch on release, this one is engaging about 2" off the floor. Is this normal for the SRT, seems way early to me and if it is any hints as to proper adjustment?

My clutch was 3" or so off the floor when it would engage. With all the power available, it DID make for interesting launches!!!

After more research it looks like it could be a worn clutch or the clutch fork. At any rate, has anyone changed out their clutch themselves and if so how major a PIA is it??? I thought I knew better but believe I got F*&^% on this deal, as it appears it has a junkyard motor in it!!!!!!!!!!! I know it could be good or bad. WHo ever did the swap if it is, did a great job. What bothers me is SRT-4 written on the block in paint pen which is a sign to me its a junkyard motor. Unless the factory does this, it was pretty well hidden my the intake. And buying it without a warranty (as-is) not sure my legals on it, looking into it. ANy thoughts??????

Did you buy it from a private party or a dealer?

Purchased from a large dealership. But with an as-is sticker as it was used and no factory warranty. Checking with the Tn state consumer division to see if I have any recourse should I find it to be a junkyard motor.
