Just drain some of it before removing the Stat. The stat keeps the car running cooler... which is a good thing

Just beware, the rumor around the mill is, if you drop the t-stat temp to make the car run cooler - - the car runs in a richer condition... just the rumor I heard around the mill... I have no proof pro or con on this...

the rich condition has been shown with the 160 thermo, but not with the 180.

apparently the srt doesn't decide that it's completly warmed up until around 170 degrees, and before that it runs rich to keep things safe. once it reaches around 170 it decides that it's in operating temperatures and things go to where they should.
