The old OCC question.... Again!!!
Hey Guys,
I know that you guys are sick of stupid questions about the OCC, but Im not getting the concept. I put my GReddy OCC in... this is how I did it. I used the existing hose that runs from the PCV valve, and then used my own hose to go from there to the OCC, and then ran a hose out of the OCC to the TB. What I dont understand is that the inlet where the TB is... The air that is flowing through the TB causes a vacuum on that inlet and pulls air into the throttle body from the emmisions line, right??? I unhooked the line that I have connecting the emmission line to the OCC, and it is pulling air into the OCC and the emmissions line that is coming from the PCV valve is not pushing any air through it at all...
This just doesnt make since to me at all!!!
I can take pics of how I have it hooked up if this doesnt make since to anyone... Also I used regular automotive hose, like fuel line, and it is collapsing... Should I use smaller line or is this going back to the vacuum at the throttle body?
Id appreciate and input,
Thanks
Andrew

WHAT I DID WITH MY WEAPON R OCC IS, I TOOK THE END OF THE HOSE THAT RUNS FROM THE PCV VALVE OFF OF THE INTAKE, EXTENDED THAT HOSE TO THE OCC. THEN RUN THE OTHER HOSE OFF THE OCC TO THE INTAKE.
What I am trying to find out is why Dodge has it setup where the intake is pulling emmisions into the TB, i thought the pcv valve pushed air into the intake whenever the pressure was to great. If it is setup to circulate air the way it is, what is the pcv valve for, why dont they just run a line from the valve cover to the TB without the pcv valve???
I really dont get the whole point of it all?
Thanks
Andrew

I understand what you are saying, it just doesnt make sense to pull air from inside the engine into the TB, i would think that there could be a better way...
I am hoping that I dont understand, but unfortunately no one else is posting!
Thanks

The thread at the very top section has everything you could ever want to know about the OCC, everything from how it works to why you need it to how to hook it up properly, there is even a link with detailed pictures on how to do it correctly. You are supose to hook the OCC up to the intake manifold, not the TB. All you had to do was remove the 3" hose that went from the PCV valve to the hard plastic line and connect a hose coming from the PCV valve to the inlet of the OCC and then run another hose from the outlet of the OCC to the hard plastic line. That's it plain and simple.
Where did you mount the OCC?
