when i first start to drive 1st gear 20 mph just under 4,000 rpm after driving 20 mph just over 4,000. this has nothing to do with engine temp. i can warm up 1st it's after driving. is my clutch slipping
am i dreaming? if someone could also tell me rpm's to speed in different gears. been reading for 6 months regestered today!

I'm confused as well. Try to tell us what exactly is happening in a bit better English.

OK one more time, I'll try to use better English. My RPM's to MPH change after car is warmed up. When I first start driving 1st gear hits 20 MPH and RPM’s are just under 4,000. After driving for a while when I’m at 20 MPH in 1st my RPM’s are just past 4,000. When I say warmed up I am not talking engine temp, I can start car and let engine warm up then when I start to drive 20MPH in 1st just under 4,000 RPM but then after driving for a while and clutch plates? are warm 20 MPH in 1st is just over 4,000 RPM. Is this normal? I have 2500 miles on the car. If it is not normal I want to take it in ASAP because the clutch not covered. If there is a problem I am more likely to get dealer support early on with low mileage than later with higher mileage. At 10,000 miles when there is major clutch slip they’ll blame my driving habits. My car is street driven and not raced. I have only spun my tires 3 or 4 times other than a short chirp so I do not think I have been abusive with the clutch.

The second question I was asking was what MPH to RPM’s in different gears. With that info I could possibly determine if I have a problem or not.

In closing I was born in North Carolina and raised around Detroit so English is not my first language. Any input much appreciated, thanks!

P.S. No I am not cruising in 1st gear!

Firstly, I wasn't cutting your English. It was a joke, sorry if you took it the wrong way. You just need to explain yourself better with what is happening, which you did in your second post. If I understood you correctly, then there doesn't sound like there is anything wrong with your clutch. The clutch doesn't regulate how high your engine revs, it simply allows the transmission to switch gears properly. I wouldn't worry too much about a few hundred rpm's, but if you started to have a big difference, then I would take it in and get it checked out. I really haven't noticed anything like that with mine, but I'll check the next time I drive and see if my car is doing the same thing. Read the owner's manual and it tells you the optimum speed that you should switch gears at for the best fuel economy and the best for heavy driving.
