glhs, i was looking at the devil's own system, but in all honesty i didn't order it because it looked a little bootleg to me. i'm familiar with snow performance, we have their kit on the mustang. i know their products are well built. i haven't ordered anything yet, so maybe if the devil's own one works out i might get that. i would rather a progressive system, but my purpose wasn't really to use it for hom. if i can that's great, but that's not my main concern.

I just talked to a performance shop around here, and he recommended that I get the w/i after I get the Stage 2 or 3. So I guess I am going to get the ole mopar exhaust and some plugs/wires, and then start saving for the stage 2. NO FUN!!!

so does it raise compression at all? i know they have both water and propane injection in diesils and that raises compression

but the setup may be different

no just reduces temps and detenation so you can run more boost and timing.

its a 1 gallon jug that holds the water so you probably check it every time you get gas which for me is about every 5 days . one other note me personally woudnt run boost levels i couldnt run with out it to be on the safe side.will still see pretty good performance gains from even runnig stage 2 boost levels.

i'm not sure if the other companies offer it, but snowperformance has an option for a fluid level indicator. it's a led that's mounted in the cabin that lets you know if you're running low on water.

Depends on how it's being used, and of course the safegaurds you have put into place. Psi chick mentioned some. NOw, and correct me if I'm wrong, Psi Chick, but your basically using the kit to optimize intake conditions and prevent detonation, but the computer still has control of boost and timing, right?

Now, if that's the case, she's perfectly safe. The safety net of temp and knock sensors will watch over her. Of course, if you are manually controlling boost and/or fuel, then you have no safety net, and what you said holds true.

Now, of course, just using it to optimize, instead of tune for max power will have better gains, but then your walking the tightrope, where if it fails, indeed boom!

Myself, I had planned on using it to simulate racegas for running HOM (high octane mode). It seems now that water alone is not quite enough, a methanol mix is required. But even so, that is way less exspensive than $.50 a gallon racegas. And still has the temp conditioning and detonation control benefits.

how the w/i is tuned is dependant on the set up. for s3 purposes, the ecu still has control over boost levels, but this is not the case on all aftermarket set ups.

the safe thing to do on an aftermarket set up would be to tune without w/i and use it as a support. or you can have two maps, one optimized for w/i and one that is without it. a full throttle switch would be very useful in a car where the ecu doesn't have control over boost as well. a car should not be tuned for daily driving depending on water injection imo, too many variables can go wrong.

like psi chick said ill le ecu control boost i just want a more efficient eng under all conditions so there would be a much less change in performance when tempetures change.
