Powdercoating is the only really good way to do it. Talked to a guy that did it to his srt-4, it cost $300 for all 4 wheels.

You can do it yourself, but it will definetely take some time. Somebody on here did it to theirs and gave these instructions:
i masked them with painter's tape and newspaper- that's the hardest part- getting it just the way you want it- plan on at least a full day, plus the paint is supposed to cure for at least 24 hours.

then i sanded the areas to be painted with 400 grit (i think)- check the auto stores- the sandpaper is categorized by what it's for- the grit i used is for prepping painted surfaces for re-paint.

after sanding you have to thoroughly clean all the dust off (there will be alot). this step is muy importante- any contamination will show in the paint and may cause it to peel later.
the easy part is painting- i used krylon wheel paint- be patient and put on lots of lighter coats rather than a few heavy ones, so the paint doesn't run. let it dry for an hour or so between coats, just until it's tacky, so the coats bond to each other. I put 4 or 5 coats, i can't remember. make sure your painting area is as clean as possible from dust and such.
after the color coats i applied 2-3 coats of clear coat to seal and protect it- you can choose flat or gloss, i think- i like flat with the dark color.
after you're finished let everything dry for 2-3 hours, then remove the masking b4 the paint gets hard, otherwise it will chip when you pull the tape off.
then let everything cure for at least 24 hours and you should be good to go.
i was going to powdercoat mine also, but then i figured i'd try this, and if i didn't like it i could still get them sanded and powdercoated. i like this so much that i'm going to leave them the way they are!

yeah- that was me- they're still going strong and i still love them- i really like them b/c i like the stock wheels, but i don't like having the same wheels as everyone else, so this is a good solution for me. you can see what you think.
