Default Gas Mileage

Hey i just bought my srt4 and its got about 2k miles on it. Now i haven't done anything to it but take out the stock air box. But i'm not getting the mileage the dealership said i would. I commute back and forth to work about 90 miles a day all highway very little boost needed unless someone trys to mess. But like i'm getting no more then 22mpg and the dealer said this was because its new. Is this really why or is there something else wrong. I was hoping i'd be pushing more like 30 like they said. I am using 93 octane fuel. Please let me know.

Give the engine some time to break in, fuel mileage will improve around 5 or 10 k!

fuel mileage will improve, but you're not going to get 30+mpg. if you can get 25 on a regular basis you're doing good.

My only real complaint about this car is the mileage. But you have to pay to play.

Going from a 2003 Ram with the 5.7 hemi(13 MPG), this is great. I drive highway with some fun inbetween and get about 24-25.

I have gotten 30mpg, but I drive like a grandma....which could be why. Stay out of boost and your gas mileage won't be as bad. And we all know how hard it is to stay out of boost. But staying out of it does improve the gas mileage even slightly. But by 15k miles at the latest your gas mileage will be much better.
