Is 17 psi of boost normal for a stock 2004 SRT-4?
Based on what I have read, maximum boost for my stock 2004 SRT-4 should be somewhere between 11psi and 15 psi depending on temperature, humidity and some other variables. Most of the time it will max out somewhere in that range.
Temperature seems to have the biggest effect on boost. During the winter when it was freezing most of the time my boost rarely went over 11psi. Now that we are getting some warm weather it can go to 17 psi for a second or two and then drop back to about 15 to 15.5 psi. I have only hit 17 psi when the temperature is above 25 degrees celsius (that's around 75 fahrenheit).
I managed to get a top speed of 245 kph (152 mph) early one morning back in May. The outside temperature was -4 C (25F) and it was making 11psi of boost.
What boost levels are you people seeing with a stock SRT-4 and is 17 psi normal? Just curious.
