Has anybody had stage 3 installed at a dealership? A guy I used to go to high school with works at a dodge dealership and he told me that installation runs about $4200. I find that kind of hard to believe. Anybody know how much the install runs at dealers.
If that is not including the part, that is way high. I did my modified Stage 3 when I installed a built engine. I was talking to Darrell on the phone yesterday and he said you can do it with out the cross member removal in about an hour if you take the turbo and manifold apart and pull it out the top. You will need to remove the valve cover to get a little extra room.

Gary, keep in mind, we're talking about a full kit install, not just the turbo. And the time Daryl can do it in is not representative of most folks. Even trained Dodge techs.

The wiring for the Toys wiring can take a couple of hours, a couple more for the sprayer, for which you have to remove the front fascia. As I recall, the book calls for 4 hours labor for the whole Toys deal. Another hour to hour and a half for the fuel pump/rail/injectors.

And while I myself did split the turbo/manifold to install from the top, the book does not recommend that, and is done at your own risk.

I understand that Darrell can probably do it faster, and there are other parts that need installed. My point is there is a faster way to do it. Not really any risk, but if there was increased risk what difference would it make, they is no warranty anyway.

has anyone actually installed a stage 3 and removed the cross member? i always thought that was just retarded and made the install a lot longer and more complicated than it needs to be. we didn't remove mine, just removed the mm's, tilted the engine forward a little and pulled out the turbo and manifold.

no need to split the turbo, just remove both front motor mount bolts, take out all the ignition parts and battery, then take the wga off the turbo and twist the manifold as you install it. Start out with the manifold backwards and twist it as you slide it in. I had no problems doing it that way. Having two experienced mechanics working on it together helps alot too...

what all do you need to remove to get the turbo in and out of there. I dont wanna rip apart a whole bunch of stuff just to pull a turbo out, but I will do what I have to do to get it done. Any ideas or techniques yall came upon while doing the install will help me out abit. Then again aparently I have two months to read up on the install, at least I hope its only two months. I've heard horror stories that some people waited six months for theirs.

Anyone ever find out how much the install of the Stage-3 should cost?

I'm thinking aboug having it installed in my SRT-4 and I don't want to void my warenty, so I thought having the dealership do it was the way to go.

having the dealership do it isn't going to save your warranty, don't let them trick you into spending thousands of dollars to have them do the install.
