3 ept cruiser ecu??
ok, so I've been reading all this about how the stage ecu is the same as a pt cruiser turbo automatic ecu???
if this is true then couldnt I get an ecu/injectors? from a wrecked cruiser turbo auto, have it flashed to my vin, and toss it in and go free and clear??
And no, I dont care about all the other crap like the turbo, wga, etc...I already have another turbo setup in mind that I want to toss on the car...I just want the fuel/ignition control that the stage 3 ecu/injectors bprovide is all. everything else I want to do differently...
so is this a viable alternative??
also, whats up with all this vin flashing crap?? will the ecu not physically crank the car up without flashing or is it just to make sure the odometer reads correctly??

no, you can't just get a ecu from a pt cruiser. it's the same physical ecu, but the programing is completly different. they needed to use that ecu because it has more availble memory and circuits to allow s2 and s3 to run correctly.
the vin has to be programed in because of the skim key system. if you do not program the key into the ecu the car will start for 3 seconds or so and then shut off. do that 3 times and the ecu locks itself.
