i have a 2004 srt-4.. when i go full throttle or hard acceleration the car cuts out and sputters, sometimes backfires alittle. normal driving is fine. when i gradually build boost it pulls just fine. the car does have a manual boost controller and the boost is going up to 15-20lbs at full throttle. can anyone tell me where to start troubleshooting this? is it over boosting? any help would be appreciated.

 

im wondering if this could be a coilpack issue. it does have the msd wires and coil pack on it. any thoughts??

 

go back to the stock coil, if that doesn't fix it, replace wires, and check plugs, gap them or even just replace them if youve had them for a while also it could be fuel cut if your running too much boost on a s0 pcm don't go over 16-17psi

 

I had this happen after a ECu upgrade. Check the gap in the plugs. you could be having spark blowout.
