SRT Track Experience - MIS
If you have the chance to go to this - - - DO IT!!! It is worth every penny of those $300!!!
Cars I got to drive (and I mean drive):
Viper
SRT-10 truck
SRT-10 quadcab
SRT-4
Crossfire SRT6
300c SRT8
Things we did:
1/8 mile drag
Slalom (is that spelled right?)
Road track
Autocross track
on top of that the Skip B. drivers took you for rides in different products... it's amazing what the Neon will do!!!! Have you ever drifted sideways at 60mph, corrected, and then took off to 120mph on a race track??? awesome!!!
it was one of the moments in life I won't forget!!! I encourage all to go!!!

SRT (aka Dodge) sent me stuff in the mail (all SRT owners should have received information).
It was $300 (for those that own cars older than April of 2005, after that month they include the cost of the event into the car price tag)
This event was held at the Michigan International Speedway... nothing is more exciting than cruising at 140 mph in the SRT-10 truck with a professional driver behind the wheel and you are inches from the side rail! or driving a Viper at 100mph following another Viper around the track!!! Awesome!!!

You went Sat. right? You must have been in a different group than me. I asked a few guys around me if they were you but no one wanted to admit it. I loved that big road coarse. That SRT-8 with the ESP system made me look like a pro. Didn't care to much for the truck, the back end is too light and the shifter was too long. Loved the power of that viper. Had it up to 125 on turn 4 of the speedway and felt solid as a rock. The magnum wanted to push up towards the wall but still my favorite. Can't beat the sound of a V8. I was really impressed with the power of the SRT-8's, they really set you back in the seat.
OH YEAH, that's right... sorry, I forgot we had a DF member there!! I was in the blue band group (drag's first).
I agree, the Viper was just nuts!!! and the truck was a handful!! best time of my life!!!

Got a chance years ago to do the Richard Petty driving school when I live in Vegas. It really does put things in a whole new light. That geat big track becomes a toilet bowl at a buck 40. I thought I'd be pretty jaded to that kind of speed living out in the desert. I had a hopped up 1000 cc Kawi crotch rocket and had been to the far side of 150 dozens and dozens of times. Even approx 170 once on a cool Sunday morn way North of town and that WAS fast, But, that was in a straight line. Going around corners at 140 is a whole 'nuther thang. After the school, we did the follow the leader thing, I was in the middle car and we did go fast enough on about lap 6 of 8 to have the whole car go into a 4 wheel drift over the hump between turns 3 and 4. You dont see that hump on TV. But let me tell ya, there's a friggin hump on the low line between 3 and 4 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. It was a heart stopper, the whole car picked up and shot right about 3 feet then settled back down as if nothing had happened. I have never watched a Nascar race the same way since. Tri-ovals look boring, but there are at least 4 different and unique corners at the Vegas track. So I have a real good idea of what your talking about.
