Default new plugs and wires

new plugs and wires and still a rough idle. I changes them out to msd and ngk's the 1st day i had it, 9 days and 940 miles ago. srtforum.com has a thread about bent valves in some of the 05's causing a rough idle and hard starts. anyone else heard of this yet? any idea's about the rough idle would be appreciated thanks

The SRT-4 is known for having a fairly rough idle, but this is common among turbocharged cars. Here is what Car & Driver had to say about the SRT-4's idle in their highly biased and BS article in their september '05 issue called "Cheap Speed, Round 23": "Racing engines don't have to be smooth. The SRT-4's produces a riot of vibration and is so lumpy at idle that our testers couldn't write clearly in the logbook." Enough said.

i guess i will order up the msd coil pack and see what happens. If is doesn't help, then I will have to live with it.

If you can, you might try swapping in another set of injectors. An injector that dribbles or has an uneven spray pattern at idle can cause roughness.

Turning the engine off gets you enough of a "kick" to think you were riding a bull in a rodeo.......but I still love it!!!

Don't waste your money on an MSD coil pack, they have the exact same output and specs as the stock coil and won't make any difference. I have the MSD coil on my SRT-4, but that's only because I bought it for the '99 Neon R/T I use to have and their coil packs are the exact same, so I swapped it over before I sold the R/T. I wouldn't have even bought the MSD coil had I known that it is the exact same output as the stock coil at the time. Save your money for better things that will make a difference.
