Default mobil 1 atf

besides my srt-4. I also have a '98 Z28 with a six speed. 140,000 mi. and I have always used mobil 1 synthetic from the motor to the diferential. My question is. Can I replace my transaxle fluid on my srt-4 with mobil 1 atf??. I called the dealer and they were clue-less. I know a transmission on a rear drive car may be different then a transaxle on a front wheel drive care due to the fact that the transmission and differential share the same lubricant. If anyone has any knowledge on this please respond. I would really like to use the synthetic if I could.

sure you can use a synthetic. lots of people are. the most common ones people seem to like are redline or synchromesh. i have not read any reviews on the mobil 1 atf, so if you do switch to it please let us know how you like it.

Yes, and I highly recommend that you do. I will be doing it when the mileage is right for the fluid change.

Well, I called the 800 number for mobil 1 and I guess the mobil 1 synthetic ATF does not meet the requirements of ATF+4 that our cars require. I guess they make a ATF+5 synthetic blend that does. I guess I'll look into the red line one first.
