turning up the boost?
i have a mechanical boost controller and have my car tuned for 25psi of boost.
the guy i bought my car from said he turned the boost down (15psi) just by turning the dial. and told me to turn it back up to 25 because thats what its tuned for.
now my question is, does the computer compensate for the boost and know what the air/fuel ratios are? to be honest i dont know if i have a wideband hooked up. i dont have a A/F ratio gauge though.

Sounds like you are more than likely not on PCM Controlled boost anymore. If not the computer will not do anything for the boost anymore. its all controlled by the boost Controller. But, I could be wrong would depend on how it was tunned and what boost controller it is. Without a Air / Fuel Ratio as the AEM Uego you will not see the AFRs. That would be the first thing I would get. before turning the boost up. What Turbo is the Car running?
yes for the most part...
The ECM will do its best to compensate for the additional air being pumped in, but there is a limit until the stock system can no longer keep up (injectors, etc..)
I would say that if he is tuned for 25 then leave it but I wonder HOW and with what? Not that its an issue, but it really may not be a big deal if its done right
