Default turbo timer

Does anybody have any info on a good, so to say best and easiest to install, turbo timer. I just picked up an srt-4 and am a little protective of her. I get paranoid and let it idol for too long. It's starting to get to me. Any info will be apprieciated. Thanks

You only need to let it idle for a few minutes (see your owners manual) if it's been driven hard. If you drive "normal" just shut it down. Save your money for Stage 2!!!!![sm=smiley36.gif]

Thanks, but I do a lot of freeway diving, and am usually in a hurry, so it kills me to sit and let it idol when I got places to go. Money isn't the key, I just want the thing to last. I will probably get a stage 2 when they are more miles on the car and more readily availabe.

I don't blame you, I treat mine with TLC and wash it at least every other day. It's a member of the "family".!!!![sm=smiley36.gif]

Hey, Mopar

I have a Apexi TT on mine got to www.dodge-srt4.com/howto/greddy.html, but the only thing is that you have to program it manually. You have to tap into the O2 wire at the ECU to use the auto timer feature on The Apex-i TT....

Good Luck, Dawg

Keep Racing

mopar,

Don't sweat it unless your right out of max boost and stop the car. Like Dusty said, just follow the book. Some owners got to meet a few of the PVO guys and ask some questions. That was one of them. They said that for normal operation, just follow the book. They designed in something called thermodynamic siphoning. Means that the coolant lines are laid out so that coolant continues to be drawn through the turbo even after the car shuts down, slowly, but as long as it's moving, it's drawing heat. This is not rumors, these words came direct from the engineers who made the car.

Besides, with that nice big front mounted intercooler it should be good to go. At steady freeway speeds your not even boosting, so it really isn't a problem, but if your still worried the best possible time to shut it off is right after the coolant has cycled through and you see the temperature drop till it stops.[sm=smiley2.gif]

Thanks, I am going to check with the dealer and see if a timer will void my warranty in any way. I am tending twords the blitz with boost gauge and boost max. It looks pretty cool, there is a site, can't remember it off hand that says to have a harness, the home grown type, that looks promising. I will let everyone know how it goes. PEACE

They cannot void your warranty because of an addition or a modification, unless they can prove that the addition/modification was the cause of any problems/malfunctions/break downs. You can do whatever you want to it and they can't say jack if what you do isn't the direct cause of any problems. The ONLY thing that WILL void your warranty is racing, but they still have to prove you were racing when the problem occurs. And if you don't believe me, check it out for yourself in the Mopar Performance catalogs. On page 4, paragraph 3 of their Street Essentials catalog it tells you all about it.
