Default Turbo

This is my first turbo charged car and i was wondering if anyone can explain to me how this works, how do i use the turbo and how is the best way to maintain your turbo and prevent from having problems. Thanks all!

Basically, it has a turbine wheel that is spun by the exhaust gasses. This wheel is connected to another in the intake, which is forced by the pressure of the exhaust to push more air through the engine via the intake.

An engines power output and efficiciency are directly related to how much airflow can be generated, so a turbo significantly increases power by adding air(read oxygen=combustibility).

On maintenance, definitely don't skip oil changes - definitely do them religiously at 3000miles, let the car cool down for a decent period after hard runs(a few minutes) before shutting it off, and only use synthetic motor oil.

On how to use the turbo, hit the gas. Voila.
