Hey all, new member here, thanks in advance for the help!

The other day, I thought the clutch went out on my Neon - I was driving and the stick went out of gear and I could not get it back in gear. So i coasted until I got to a stop. After that happened, I couldn't find any gears. I don't know if it was the clutch, or something wrong with a shift fork or something, but the best way I can describe it is the gear shift was just loosely flopping around. I jimmyed around with the clutch and the gearshift for a bit, and suddenly it just slipped into first, and I could find all my gears and shift again.... Now its shifting fine except it is a little resistant to go into second and slightly resistant when going from second to third

I'm not sure if this is a sign of my clutch going out, or some other tranny problem, or just a weird fluke... Any advice y'all have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

 

Check the shifter bushings. And the linkage. Maybe it got stuck on something or just worn out.
