Default Resetting PCM Question?

I have done this several times after making various mods. Is it really necessary to do after every change like making a WG adjustment? Won't the PCM adjust to changes on its own after some driving? Does resetting just make the process quicker? Every time I do it it relearns like a day of slow return to idle from my 60mm TB. The next day no more of this. If I don't reset after the next change how long for the PCM to Learn?

I am not 100% sure about the srt-4. But on my neon, after I reset the PCM, I have to drive for about 15 miles before the PCM comes out of limp mode and actually runs right again. I would assume the the srt-4 is similar.
