Today I had this system installed at their factory which is less than 100 miles from my house. They installed for free and did a great detailed job. I had prior a Maxfab 3" DP w/cat and a Borla System with bottleneck removed. The original Borla system sounded great to me but after adding the 3" DP the decel. pops and backfiring were way too loud for my tastes. Exhaust noise is like music - some like loud blaring and otherw quiet soft tones. My former setup was just too offensive for normal driving. I know that many run 3" systems with no cat - resonnator - muffler - and love the explosions but I am more reserved in daily use.
The system quality is Great and fit was Perfect. It has two 3 1/2" tips just like the stock system and a little smaller than the Borla 4" tips. It has a resonnator in the front pipe with a 3" straight through core. At the rear the polished round muffler ois straght through with a chamber in the middle. I got the 3" DP w/ cat. The exhaust is very quiet. At the rear of the car at idle it sounds nice like a mini-Flowmaster Muscle Car. At cruise it is quiet. At accel. it is also quiet and most noticable are the intake and turbo noises under the hood. It may be too quiet for some of your tastes but I doubt that any other system that flows this much exhaust gas is as quiet. Cjuck at Thermal said that w/o a cat. is a little louder but not much. I had rolled my rear bumper and will leave this way as the polished sideways muffler looks good in the center. The system looks professional - and neat. Top and mid range performance appear to be increased of my prior set up. Yes it is quieter than stock - stock Borla - or any other 2 1/2" or 3" system around. I purchased at Modern Performance and arranged to pick up at Thermal Factory. Cost = not cheap at $770 but at least I avoided shipping costs and install fees.
