Test drove SRT4 today!
Whats up folks, I'm trying to sell my truck to buy a SRT4, and today went to a dealer to check on a trade in. Long story short, end result was quite insulting. Their first offer for my truck, pictured in my signature - $6700. After laughing in their face, I got him up to around 10,000 but I'm looking for more than that. Hell, thats not even blue book so no deal today!
However I did get to drive a SRT4 today for the first time! They let us take the thing out by ourselves which was shocking and pretty cool! I've only driven a manual two times before so I didnt really get to push it much as I'm a little "clunky" working the shifter, not to mention the shift **** kept falling off! Not a single stall or stumble though so I was happy. But man after the test drive I'm 100% convinced this is something I want to do! Upon start up I notice it even sounds great at idle stock. I'm comming from a V8 with dumped exhaust so I'm used to loud and vibrating exhaust at all times so this is right up my alley. It has a nice deep tone to it and the turbo sound is awesome. Loved the seats, my truck lacks much support and I much prefer a supportive seat like the SRT. I have to say I liked everything about the car - minus the shift **** flying off though I wouldn't doubt this car has been run hard atleast a few times with 65 miles on it, it still doesn't seem acceptable for how loose it was. Not to mention the one I drove had a dead battery! He threw the jumper in the trunk "just in case" lol.
But anyways, just wanted to post about it since I WILL be one of the newest SRT4 owners around here. I'm going to get some financing and get the car and keep working on selling my truck so I get closer to what I want.
So my truck is still for sale, taking offers! This should be note that 6700 is not an acceptable offer! lol

Good luck! Doncha just love car dealers? They would have given you 6,700 for your truck and who knows how much they would sell it for. I always love how they give you their trade in price with a straight face. I can always see them greasy/slickies, after they make "deals" like this, in the back room and high fiving each other. Stay strong in your resolve, and the deal you want will present itself.
As a veteran of what your describing, do as WordSlayer says: stay strong.
You'll find your deal at some point though maybe not for a new SRT (they're quitting production, right?).
As one of the most intelligent people I've ever come across once said: "Don't fall in love with nuthin' that can't love you back".

Definetly commited to not letting the truck go for any less than what I consider reasonable.
After driving the srt today though I must have it! I'm starting to wish I started this whole process many months ago for obvious reasons, I dont want a used one so Im trying to get this all done with asap. Definetly cannot afford to let the truck go for under a certain amount though. So I'm planning on getting a srt with some financing, so I make sure I get a new one, and then I'll have a large chunk of money to pay on the loan when I finially sell the truck. I've already had a 12K cash offer, and its only been on autotrader for a week, so besides a couple forums I post at it hasn't even been "up for sale" long at all. I'm confident I'll find a buyer, it just might take longer than I'd like.

$6700!?!!! WTF? Someone lika the cracka at that dealer. They'd turn around and sell it for a good 15,000 more than that. Trade in values just suck. Selling it outright has been where its at for awhile now.
Good luck with selling it, its a beautiful truck!
