Hey guys, just recently purchased my 05 SRT-4 a month ago and it has always made a sound like it has an external wastegate under WOT. hard to explain. kind of like a hissing fluttering sound (doesnt sound like compressor surge) i never thought much of it because i bought the car like that. always seemed to hold boost just fine. held 15psi for the most part, sometimes spiked at around 17. today under WOT i noticed an additional loud whistling sound. boost also dropped to around 8 psi after hitting 15 initially. im pretty sure its a boost leak, but was wondering if anyone had any leads as to where it is coming from. the loud whistle is normal for a boost leak from what i understand, but was wondering if the wastegate noise also has something to do with it. maybe a leak in the wastegate itself could make the wastegate sound louder? car is stock aside from an oil catch can, exhaust and intake. thank you guys in advance. any advice would be much appreciated.
