Factory Mobil 1
This has been brought up several times before as to when to put synthetic in your srt. A while ago someone wrote that they think they come from the factory with it in there...
We (Dad & I) acidentally found a way to know if oil is synthetic or not. We wash cars and in our spraying castrol super clean under the hood on oily spots, we noticed that sometimes the oil turned purple when this got on it. On regular oil, super clean does not alter the color in any way, but spray some on a drop of mobil 1 and it turns purple. so...
As I was cleaning my valve cover when I took it off, preparing to paint it, I noticed that when I sprayed super clean on it, all the under side of the valve cover turned purple.
I have not changed oil yet, this is what was in it from the factory...

Interesting discovery!! My dealer told me the SRT-4s came with Mobil 1 from the factory as well as the Vipers. And he recommended Mobil 1 10W-30 for the south Texas area since we get no real cold weather here. I've bought some Amsoil as well and additional bottles of Mobil 1...most oil companies are going to be raising their prices on oil products due to the huge demand for oil from China...[sm=smiley5.gif]
