The engine has no effect on the PCM or it's programming. The PCM and it's programming is only relevant to the car itself and the keys, that's it.

 

You tell em I said I want you to have that engine replaced! You can also use the old, do you know who I am? routine. Tell them you are a moderator on a very large and influential automotive forum and the whole online community is watching to see if they do the right thing. Tell them if they don't, there's going to be a lot of bad press. You can also tell them that I will be very angry.

 

Damn, Crystalmarie - I knew that noise you posted up here weeks ago was valvetrain related---amazing how you can make a pretty close diagnosis based on a sound broadcast over hundreds of miles of virtual airspace, isn't it? I have my fingers crossed for you on the engine replacement:sounds like you deserve it!!!!!

So what happened then, your inertia blew out everything? You didnt drive it hard so what caused the damage? And cams?? What the hell is up w/ that? Perhaps they could give you a clue and tell you what the hell happened. Id be a little hostile if they didnt give you a new Motor...Tell them to stuff it right up their pooper!

I think I heard it too and it did sound like good old lifter tick. That is amazing. Everthing thus far points to an oiling problem. A bad pump, plugged passage/s or something. That engine should be scrapped. At the very least taken completely down, blueprinted and remanned.
I hope they do the right thing.......

Welp...We have an entire set of lifters on order from Millwaukee should be here next Wednesday. Im not sure about the cams, watch...they'll take the car apart and then realize that it needs those too. Paul said if he were chasing a top end noise he would do cams, lifters, and something else I have a brain fart right now.

I wish they'd just put a new ****ing engine in, its not worth all the bull****. Next week Im having my 3" put back on, if the car STILL smokes like its blown an O-ring....we'll know it wasnt the turbo, though that was in fact bad.

My VIP is 3.5 pages long...and growing.

I need that damned taillight gasket too....

Ill have to grab a copy of the VIP and write out everything thats been done/replaced. And I dont even BEAT on the car. Its only been 37,000 miles, and in his short life he LIVES at the dealer.
