Default 1st gear?

Anybody else have a real stiff 1st gear. When at a stop and I try to put it 1st sometimes it just does not want to go in. I have to push for awhile before it will go in. I thought it was just in need of a break in, but it doesn't seem to be getting any better. It isn't a constant problem, usually a slow speeds ect. Am I doing something wrong? I ain't the worlds reatest driver, but shouldn't it shift into first easier than having to actually push it?

Has anybody dynoed there car? I am going to dyno mine once it's broken in, stock, so I know where I am starting from. When will it be safe to do this, obviously I want to wait for 1500 for the added mystery break in ponies? Thanks. PEACE

Mine is stiff going into 1st as well. It use to be the same for 2nd as well, but I have noticed it loosening up a bit for both mainly 2nd. Both my Shelby Z and R/T had downshifting issues, the Shelby Z had issues with grabbing sometimes during upshifts as well and hesitating going into gear.

Mine used to be first thru third was real stiff. Now second is fine, but first and third are still real hard to get into sometimes.

First is still a little stiff after 1300 miles. I can get into 3rd just fine now, after several embarrasing "incidents" in which I went from 2nd to 5th...[:'(]

Yeah, my 1st is a little annoying on the going in, but 2nd has gotten alot better. I've never had any issues wit 3-5 at all or with reverse.

Thanks, glad to know things will get better. A friend of mine had an eagle talon that was imposible to get into 1st. You had to put it into 2nd and then 1st. I was just curious and figured that it was due to a needed break in. I only have a stiff 1st though, I usually double clutch when applicable and the trans. is very smooth, 5th to 3rd on the interstate is smooth and exciting! Keep on Driving...PEACE
