My choice...Get ACR?
Hey, as those of you who read my 1st post know, I am buying a 2005 SRT-4 very soon. I found the exact one I wanted with the ACR package. Well, my question to you is what all is included and what are the benefits. I know that is includes lighter rims, meatier tires, adjustable and a few other handling things. I have also heard a few things I can't discover an answer to. For example, I have heard the run slightly higher boost, they are lighter as they strip a lot of things down. Can anyone tell me all the benfits and let me know if yo uhtink it is worth the extra $1200? In myopinion just with the wheels and wider tires, it seems worth it, plus you have all the suspension stuff. Thanks for all the help.
Very lucky to find an ACR package. Chrysler didn't advertise the ACR package returned to the neon for the last year of the SRT-4. If they did advertise I must have missed them all. I'll check a few sites and get back to you soon with some info.
I just searched the DCX media serv. web site and still nothing on the SRT-4 ACR package. Just the limited edition SRT-10 truck, viper and the SRT-4 all painted white with blue stripes and numbered dash placks.
the acr comes wtih adjustable shocks, upgraded sway bars, 16" bbs rims with 225 series tires, cut outs for a 5 point harness in the seats, and that's it. it's not stripped down, it's not any faster, it doesn't run any more boost.
the 1st gen acr's did have more power than regular neons due to stripping and a few other things, however they didn't do any of that with the srt-4 version. personally i think it's not worth the money. i hate the rims, so i would be changing them anyway, and while the suspension is nice, there are better aftermarket options.

For $1200 bucks extra i would get the ACR....Even if you dont like the wheels you could throw them on ebay for probably like $1000(wheels &tires in mint condition) and then you still get the suspension and the seats with the cut-outs for the 5 point harness for almost nothing,Sounds like a deal to me!See i didn't know about the ACR when i purchased my 04 back in february,But if i had to buy a 05 just to get a ACR i would rather keep my 04.....But if you want a 05 and a ACR i think its worth the extra cash cause in the long run it will be worth it.....My 2 cents
Not to mention the collector value. There could not be too many ACR's made. Anyone have production numbers? The $1200 price premium should carry over until you sell the car, if you would ever sell it. There has to be way less than 1000 ACR's made right?
