Default Funny story!!

I was out cruising tonight and I get to the front of a stop light with a CRX next to me... About 20 seconds before the light turns green a cop rolls up behind ME, light turns green CRX guy takes off "fast" if that's what you want to call it and cuts over 2 lanes (so now he's in the lane to my left), posted speed limit is 35 I'd say he hit 45-50... The cop is still behind me and I can see him in my rear view going to the left of the lane trying to see ahead because you could hear his coffee can going off but there's traffic on both sides of me, as we get to the next red the car to my left goes to the left turn lane and the cop guns it behind the CRX... Again I'm next to the CRX on his right... I thought for sure the CRX had to have seen this cop now, I mean it's right behind him!! By now I'm getting excited thinking the cop is going to pull him over for his little "fast and the furious" moment... But we sit at the red light for maybe 20 seconds it goes green and he takes off normal and of course as do I, but he hits second and floors it! Cop follows but doesn't light him up, CRX whips into my lane and the cop does aswell right on his *** as the CRX hits his brakes hard for a second when he must have finially saw the cop and there go the red lights! [8D]

Moral of the story, check your rear view often... And don't race someone that isn't racing you! There might be a good reason for it!

I had a similar experience, only I was the idiot. I was in my Roadrunner and it was a cold night as I was waiting to make a left turn, but my back window is fogged up and I cannot see whats behind me. I made the left turn and goosed it a little only to have party lights behind me shorty after. Needless to say he was behind me the entire time, although fairly far behind after I goosed it and left him behind, but when I let off of it he was right there again and I pulled over. There is a set of train tracks about 120-150 feet from the traffic light where I turned and he said I was at 65 MPH before I got to them and it's a 35 MPH zone. He was cool and let me go with a warning thankfully.

I also did something stupid like that a couple years ago from another light after having left a car show. Again I was out enjoying my Roadrunner and felt like a little tire spinning fun only to notice that there was a cop in the other lane behind the van that was next to me at the light. At this point it was too late and naturally the cop gets behind me in my lane for a few ticket scary seconds, but then he gets back into the other lane and goes on by. I never went over the 45 MPH speed limit, but they tend to get you anyway for having any fun at all.

The moral of these stories is to make sure the coast is clear before hand. And if you cannot or are unsure, then don't risk it.
