I have been doing some reading here in the srt-4 section and I am surprised at how fast these things go. I have a 98 Camaro SS and I would have never even wasted the gas to race what I previously thought was just a "Neon with a body kit". Sorry I ever disrespected your rides like that. I have this thing for the rumble of a V8 though!

sadly last year at the woodward dream cruise, I had some ignorant man riding (RIDING) in an SS with his lady friend pull up next to me and run his mouth about my "neon with a body kit"......

thanks! those SS's are mean SOB's!!! haha... and you're right though, you can't beat a throaty V8!

 

I will say there is no sound like the fury of an American V8, but there are so many tuner cars out there that will surprise you and SRT owners. No matter how fast your car is, there is always someone that is faster.

FYI, My friend bought one of the last F bodies off the line in '02. He bought an SS with the vette exhaust, and all the HiPo options he could get. He has done some work to it and it. He took my G-Timer and blasted off a 12.89 @112.8 mph. This was in cold weather on street tires. Pretty impressive.
Funny thing, the SRT has him until the 1/8 mile, then his car runs the back half like animal.
