Default AEM,Injen,Mopar,Iceman which do you prefer?

Hey guys hows everyone doing?just figured I would see if I can get some feedback on these intakes. So this is what I hear,Mopar and AEM are the SAME THING,true or false guys?If I recall correctly I heard someone say somewhere along the line that they had a bad experience with the Iceman CAI,something to do with their brakes going out on the highway? That doesn't sound right to me but I could be completely wrong.I haven't heard of anyone running an injen,I checked modernperformance.com and their was no feedback whatsoever on the intake, kind of weird?Modernperformance states clearly under the K & N review that "The K&N gained 3 more hp and 7 lbs of torque than the AEM." according to their dyno results. So pretty much im leaning towards the K & N for now,a little worried about puddles and what not being that low in the bumper but if anyone has anything to say please feel free any and all feedback will be greatly appreciated. Thanks again guys

I posted the same question. Actually it was a poll about 6 mos ago. You might try searching for CAI poll or something like that. I dont remember what won but one highly respected member liked JMB because you can order it customized to suit you. I believe the AEM to be the Mopar. The AEM is cheaper, But I may still go with the Mopar just because. K&N would surely be good and is probably the most popular. I believe all the major brands to be pretty equal power and performance-wise. I cannot recommend one over another except that if you need it, the Mopar one is c.a.r.b. certified.

I have the Black and Red Injen intake,im very satisfied with it plus i think the black and red look alot better under the hood than the chrome would have....I purchased it from Modernperformance.com,it was one of the cheaper ones and it only took a one week turn around for them to get it to me...[sm=smiley20.gif]

I have the AEM SRI....I <3 it. Especially with the downpours we've been getting lately. Damned floodwaters.

The mopar is an AEM with a different color and a big blue "M" on it.

There was a few threads that someone had made about how horrible the Iceman was, and the service he got when he ordered it.

Search for: CAI, AEM, Iceman

Thanks alot for the input,I think ill go with the K & N but its kind of weird that not many people I know are running it.Most people run the AEM or the Mopar. The thing is the Mopar and AEM both say they are full 3" intakes, both adjustable from short ram to cold air but the K & N doesn't say how thick the tubing is.Now im thinking more towards the AEM,UHHHHHHHH.Oh well, thanks again for the help guys I really appreciate it.

I am the intake king, I've tried them all- these are my recommendations

Stock air box with K an N drop in..= good

AEM Short Ram= No good

IPP Intake= No good

Iceman Intake= death trap, great intake for performance, however, it was rubbing my brake lines...bad intake, bad

MOPAR CAI= THE BEST!!!!! Best performance, good low end torque, just don't drive through deep water.

Now, I would personally go with the AEM or mopar over the K an N because the MOPAR is 3 inch diameter, the K an N is 2.5 I believe.

K&N is 2.5

I have the AEM SRI and posthonda and I will agree every single time that its a damn fine intake.

Ok, so the AEM SRI is 3in Short Ram, and the Typhoon by K &N which is configurable either as SRI or CAI is 2.5, realistically is the 3in pipe going to make that much of a difference?

In stock configuration there won't be a big difference in power. You will feel the difference in throttle response, though.

Yeah I wasn't so sure if that half an inch mattered that much either, anyhow its the battle between the AEM and K & N for me.I would want a 3" but would rather have the CAI and SRI all in one intake(two pieces)where as the AEM you have to buy the other piece seperate, right? Thanks LilSparkPlug and FSTSRT4 for the input
