Anyone wanna sell a used intake?
I am looking to buy an intake in the next two weeks. I thought I would ask here before buying one off ebay.
Types I am interested in.
AEM SRI: Ebay Price - 165.00 Free S&H AEM SRI for 165.00
K&N Typhoon +/- 200.00 Includes S&H
K&N Typhoon 200.00
And maybe a Mopar CAI if it's not too pricey
Mopar CAI 305.00 s&h inc.
Anyone got one they wanna off, I'd be happy to buy one from you guys, if not, I can always check the classifieds.
P.S. Why the heck (as G-Dubs would say) are they so expensive... do they really give a 20hp Boost? That sounds Uber Redunkulous.

305 isn't all that expensive. If you want expensive, look at an after-market exhuast, or even a motor swap.
I highly doubt that you'll be seeing anywhere close to a 20 HP gain from something as simple as a CAI. All it is, is a better route through which your engine can breathe. It pulls in colder air from outside the engine compartment, colder air means denser oxygen, which translates into higher efficiency and better performance. If you want maximum performance, I'd go for a full CAI instead of the SRI, simply because the SRI still draws from inside the engine bay where it's still hotter than outside air. Mopar is just a re-badged AEM (or is it K&N?) so getting a Mopar CAI just seems silly. Personally, I'd say go with either the AEM or the K&N, both are near the same thing.
As for the cost, you have to take into account the amount of work that goes into these things. Extremely rigorous testing goes into the construction of these things before they're manufactured. On top of that they are C.A.R.B. exempt, meaning that when you go in for a visual inspection for emissions testing (which we don't have in Canada) it won't affect your score. Good luck on your choice.
