Shift Knob Q's??
What's up everyone, Just a quick question looking for a quick reply if possible. I'm installing the Mopar STS on Saturday and I'm using the stock boot and would like to use the stock shift ****, but from what I heard some people's **** fall's off shifting into 2nd. I of course am trying to avoid this, any tips out there to keep my **** in its place lol. Any help would be appreciated.
Buy an aftermarket one. I have the viper one secured on my mopar STS with 2" cut off of it with Door skin adhesive. Thing will never come off.
The stock one only comes off if you really jam it in 2nd.

i was shifting into second with a little to much force the other day while playing around and the wife was in the passenger seat and she looked at me like WTF and i said here hold it for a couple secs when i was done i just popped it back on
Thanks for the help everyone i installed my STS yesterday without the bushings and so far I love it, the Stock Shift **** i can feel it move a little but far from popping off lol. then again i havent really jammed it down to second lol. But other then that I just love that fact that it feels like its brand new again lol.

Not to **** on the birthday cake, but keep in mind you are messing with basic physics, leverage is the force here and it can be changed, but it can't be eliminated. What you gain in "throw length" will be made up in resistance (stiffness). A STS is not a magic cure, but it DOES change the way the tranny feels, albeit not for an improvement in performance unless you have short (strong) arms.....
