Mopar Touch Up paint
Does it really work? Some idiot valet driver at Benihanas scratch my car a bit in the front right side. He gave me 200 bucks so I wouldn't tell his boss... lol, fine with me. Not a huge scratch really small at the bottom, but still, its a effin scratch.
Some touch up colors work better than others. Silver, for example, has silver and black pigment that must be mixed (shaken) VERY well or the silver will end up with streaks of black in it...

So my little srt is black, and i have two chips on my hood probably from all the sand they lay down when it snows here. Do I need mopar, or can I just get any touch up since its black??
May be dumb question, but if i can avoid my dealership, i will, they SUCK!!!

Dont use touch up paint, its horrible. It never matches and it wont blend in right, it will make just about any scratch look 10x worse.
srtbabe, your paint code is PX8, dont get anything other than that if you were to try it.

No touch up paint does. It has no reducer so it sits hard on top of the surface. If you dont put it on right it'll run, and stain. Your better off having anything thats chipped repainted, and anything thats scratched, buffed out (if it can be) or repainted. Most scratches can be buffed out, or at least hidden, with the exception of those that go completely through clear and base, and those that go straight to the metal.
I hate touch-up paint, and refuse to use it on anything. Working in a body shop and doing stuff like that for a year, its just so much more worthwhile to have it painted and do it right, even if it takes awhile to save up for it.

Lil spark - I'm gonna take a pic sometime this weekend and post for the two chips. The thing is, one is on the hood, one is on the bumper cover. Which means that I would have to get both painted, but since they are chips, the paint may just sit in there perfectly if I took my hood off. I'm not to worried about the hood too much because I want the vented cf hood from carbonbydesign at some point in time, but the other one i dont know. i'll try and get some pics soon.
Get the OEM look hood from CBD hunn, it looks SOOO much better. The other hood makes the car look like its pregnant LOL.
My bumper is full of chips. 46,000 miles will do that to ya. In a month or two I'll repaint it again, and fix up the dents and such then repaint what needs to be re-painted. Cause Im wicked **** like that.
Yes it does depend on the color, and on who's applying it. Try your luck with it if you want, but I hate the ****. Then again I have the ability and facilities to paint anything I wish, maybe thats why I cant stand it.
